About Revolution Soil and Seed

Revolution Soil and Seed (RSS) is a fast-growing agricultural supply company based out of Fort Lupton, Colorado.  Founded by a Dairyman, RSS operates multiple divisions specializing in: Seed production and sales, Compost production and sales, Farming operations in CO and WY, and a Trucking operation. RSS is a family owned and operated business with a family-like atmosphere.  We firmly believe in hard work and enjoying every moment of it.

The Compost Division Director of Operations largely works within the RSS Composting division with operates out of 2 sites on the front range and produces over 100,000yds of Class II compost annually.

Job Description

Revolution Soil and Seed utilizes 3 loader operators on 2 compost sites in Fort Lupton, CO.  This position is responsible for managing all day to day activities and personnel for the compost sites as well as miscellaneous farming and site operations. Typical Day to Day activities include:

  • Ensure employees show up to their shift on time and get lined out for their activities for the day
  • Ensure progress on activities including, building compost rows, break down and screen finished compost, load trucks with finished screened compost, assist in hauling manure from third parties, provide basic maintenance on equipment including greasing and washing.
  • Maintain basic communication with customers on active site and incoming orders.
  • Coordinating activities with COO
  • Coordinating equipment repairs with COO and Dairy Repair.
  • Make all basic purchases for repairs, supplies, and work truck fuel.  (Any purchases over $250.00 must be approved by COO)
  • Tracking of: Windrow Temperatures (task completed weekly), Dead Cow compost (Completed 3 times a week), Accuracy of Compost Tickets, and employee production.
  • This position is expected to solve problems and promote safety. 

Job Requirements

All applicants must:  

  • Have a valid Drivers License 
  • Have reliable transportation to and from work 
  • Be Legally able to work in the United States
  • Be able to work Mon – Fri form 7am – 5pm (weekends when applicable)

The ideal candidate would possess the following:

  • Experience running wheel loaders.
  • Experience working in either the compost, agricultural, aggregate, or landscape industries.
  • Experience loaded semi-trailers and tandem trucks with a wheel loader.

This position will be paid hourly based on experience.  

The expected pay range is: $20.00 – $27.00/hour.

Our Farm & Dairy needs a reliable, self-motivated person with initiative to start this exciting new role we are creating within our company.  We are looking for an individual who has evidence-based communication and organizational skills with a passion for running an equipment operation. We have 20+ Ag tractors and 10+ Wheel loaders with another 100+ attachments that we use on a day-to-day basis. We have just recently signed agreements with John Deere to lease the most up to date equipment that they can provide us with across our entire fleet.  John Deere will be performing all the maintenance and repairs on all the Ag Tractors and Wheel Loaders.  In this new role the manager will need to work directly with John Deere to make sure equipment is getting; serviced, maintained, and rolled out of leases at the appropriate times.  The manager will also be monitoring all equipment via John Deeres operations center technology to make sure the equipment is running at its maximum efficiency and reporting directly to CEO on all operators’ performance levels.  This manager will also be responsible for all our non-motored fleet managing and creating a semi-annual inspection report for every unit and scheduling all follow-through on all preventive maintenance needed.  This includes; detailed semiannual inspection reports, changing hoses, tires, cutting edges, minor electrical repairs.  We will expect this manager to perform most of the small tasks, and to be responsible for bidding and sourcing to a third party all large repairs.  If you are looking for a Job that offers numerous different opportunities, this job is for you!!!

Key Responsibilities.

Work within John Deere’s operations center software to monitor all equipment functions and operators’ performance.

Check all equipment semi-annual and perform or schedule all needed maintenance. 

Maintain clear communication and advanced decisions to produce observable results

Proficient in Word and Excel 

Be able to be organized and efficient with your time. 

Manage all equipment to keep it running and in good working order 

Manage and maintain 3rd party relationships to make sure our equipment is always 

in good working order for the operators 

Train new operators on equipment and necessary daily checks 

When working or performing checks on equipment, be able to diagnose future problems that may be able to be repaired at the same time.

Track all repairs, work orders, and parts supplied, to supply billing department proper paperwork needed to bill correctly

Parts runs 

Light duty mechanical, oil changes, light electrical

Work truck will be provided for picking up parts or traveling to other sites

Valid driver’s license is required

Attend and manage the weekly equipment meetings to discuss all maintenance issues.

Job Duties that you may have to perform 

 

  • Perform daily, weekly, & monthly PM and Inspections

  1. grease

  2. perform routine clean-outs

  3. check and maintain grinders

  4. perform minor repairs

 

  • Monitor all farm & dairy rolling equipment, tractors, wheel loaders, trucks, other equipment, and attachments 

  1. Service equipment not covered under John Deere programs. 

  2. Schedule repairs for all equipment 

  3. Build and monitor inspection\PM programs for all equipment 

  4. purchase all repair and maintenance supplies through approved vendors

  5. record all maintenance

  6. Tire changes

 

  • General maintenance, welding

  1. Make sure all fences, gates and headlocks are in good working order

  2. Scheduled maintenance on machinery 

  3. Scheduled 3rd party welders and mechanics to perform maintenance or repairs needed

 

Job description may change at any time according to what management feels is best for the company

Hours

  • 7:00am – 5:00pm    Monday-Friday

  • 50 hours a week expected.

  • Some weekends (Situation Dependent) If you work a weekend you can trade for weekdays off 

  • Holidays that are paid time and a half if worked.
